Our 501(c)3 nonprofit organization runs a community farm in San Miguel, where people are invited to come volunteer, learn, and experience the therapeutic benefits of working with plants and soil. We grow fresh vegetables and flowers for local customers and also for donation to the Food Bank, Loaves and Fishes, and the Wellness Kitchen to nourish folks in need.

River Road Farm is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:30 - 11:30 AM. No previous garden or farm experience is necessary, and volunteer activities are tailored to match each person's needs and abilities.
The invitation is open to anyone, but we especially want to offer this opportunity to those going through a time of difficulty or transition, or who need to earn court-mandated community service hours.
While we aren't a certified therapy program, our facilitators do take time to become personally acquainted with each volunteer and to offer a compassionate presence and listening ear as much as possible. Volunteering at the farm is an opportunity to get some fresh air, learn new skills, socialize in a laid-back environment, build one's resume, and take home some freshly-harvested fruits and vegetables!
Please feel free to share about this opportunity with anyone who may be interested, and contact us if you'd like to visit or learn more.
