Hi! My name is Natalie, and I'm a 22-year-old engineer relocating from Colorado to start a new position as an Associate Test Engineer in the San Luis Obispo area on July 6. I'm looking for a room to rent in SLO or nearby communities and would ideally like to move in before my start date. I'll be in the area and available to tour places beginning June 28.
A little about me: I've lived with roommates several times before and value open communication, mutual respect, and keeping shared spaces clean. I'm friendly and enjoy getting to know the people I live with, but I also appreciate personal space and downtime. I'll be working a typical 9–5 schedule and generally keep quiet during evenings and nighttime hours.
My main hobbies are caring for my plants, making art (especially horror-themed masks and sculptures), cooking, gardening, playing piano, and spending time outdoors. I enjoy working on art projects in shared spaces occasionally, but I always clean up after myself. I also love cooking and come with plenty of kitchen supplies, including pots, pans, dishes, and small appliances.
I plan to bring my dog, Milo, to SLO within the next few months, so I need a pet-friendly home. He's a small Maltese Terrier mix (about 12–15 lbs), hypoallergenic, and doesn't shed. During the workday he'll either come to work with me or attend dog daycare, so he won't be left alone for long periods. I'll include some photos of him!
What I'm looking for:
• Move-in: ASAP, ideally before July 6
• Available for tours beginning June 28
• Budget: Under $1,000/month
• Pet-friendly home
• Kitchen access (dishwasher is a plus!)
• Shared living/community spaces
• Washer/dryer access preferred
• Good natural light for my plants
• Space for an upright piano (about 5' x 2')
• Garage or secure storage preferred
• Parking or a safe place for my motorcycle (I have a cover and would prefer not to street park)
• Occasional access to an outdoor outlet for charging my EV
I'm looking for roommates who are respectful, communicative, keep up with chores, and don't mind living with a friendly dog. Guests are totally fine as long as there's communication, and I follow the same philosophy. Since I'm new to the area, I probably won't have many visitors at first.
If you have a room available or know of a good fit, feel free to message me. Thanks!
