    Description:


We are seeking an entry-level, part time, Shop Receptionist who will be responsible for the efficient running of the SLO MakerSpace through tasks such as making sure the doors are open and closed when appropriate, drafting responses to emails and more. Additionally, the Shop Receptionist supports the Space Assistant, Operations Director, and Education Director in the creation and maintenance of positive community culture and best safety practices.

    Responsibilities:


Welcomes members and visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone
Answering or referring member and guest inquiries appropriately
Assisting Members with keys and purchases.
Assists with facilitating communication between general staff, guest/community instructors, community members and the Operations Director.
Ensures a high quality of member, instructor and guest service at all times in dealing with shop related guest enquiries
Facilitates communication between general staff, guest instructors, and community instructors and the Operations and Education Director.
Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with SLOMS procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintains continuity among SLOMS community by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing additional assigned tasks as needed
Oversight of POS system when on duty
Helping customers and members make purchases through the website

    Qualifications:


18 years of age or older
Understands, speaks and writes English fluently
Enjoys guest contact and will assist with customer service
Able to perform tasks as directed
Able to use individual reasoning skills
Skills to uphold business rules and policies
Is computer literate and technology savvy
Responsive with good communications skills
Excellent follow-through

    Working Hours:


This position encompasses a total of approximately 8 hours per week and all hours are on the weekends to start.
