Vintage Framus "Texan Series" 5 String Banjo Circa 1970 - Made in West Germany This is a very nice Framus 5 string banjo that was called the Texan. This great banjo has a resonator and a very cool decorative flange , as well as a Remo head with the Framus brand on it. It has a straight cut headstock that uses a string retainer tree to keep the proper pressure on the strings, it has geared tuners for easy tuning, and it has a typical Framus “superlaminated” neck. It has a Rosewood fingerboard with relatively large frets, a friction type 5 string tuner, and a very cool tailpiece that can take ball end or loop end strings. It uses a metal dowel and it has an action adjuster at the bottom. The banjo is in very good condition. The banjo weighs approx 9 pounds - Rock solid German Engineering ! Serial # 030678 74H.
Check out the multi-laminate neck construction. This makes these necks super strong and stable. And the adjuster that sets your action! VERY convenient! And check out the engraving on the metal work!! This is very cool and special instrument!
