The 84-year-old owner of this vintage instrument is downsizing many of his long-term, formerly used, musical items. I am acting on behalf of the owner to encourage sales.
The collective response to opening the case of this vintage acoustic was pretty much: “Yup…never seen that before!”
Vintage authenticity and tonal richness come together in this rare, 1970s Ernie Ball Acoustic Guitar, finished in a warm Antique Natural. Renowned for their limited production and bold sound projection, these early models are prized among collectors and discerning musicians. This guitar features a solid spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, a bolt-on maple neck with a maple fretboard, creating resonant, balanced tone with impressive sustain. Though it shows signs of its history—including hairline cracks and light wear consistent with decades of use—this instrument remains in good condition and fully playable. With its comfortable neck, rosewood fingerboard, and original hardware, this Ernie Ball model offers a trusted blend of vintage character, craftsmanship, and performance value.
This unique guitar model doesn’t come up for sale too often and they are becoming rarer as time goes by. But that's not the only thing that makes this guitar stand out. This is probably one of the biggest guitar bodies we've ever seen! With a depth of 5.4 inches, it a real "big-boy" with plenty of volume, massive tone and resonance. Ernie Ball had another wild innovation with this guitar...a slim, bolt-on neck (seriously!) making the playing experience feel like an electric instrument.
Imagine playing this unique, Ernie Ball Acoustic. This guitar is definitely out of the ordinary, but that's what makes it a very interesting instrument. Its big bold sound is most suitable for strumming chords.
All in all, this vintage guitar is a great player and a wonderful example of outside-the-box thinking from Ernie Ball.
Includes a solid, thick, original, black carrying bag.
The guitar was recently strung and setup at a local Luthier.
Asking price: $1295.00 for this rare, unique collectible.
