This is a very pretty Gibson J-185 EC ("Electric Cutaway") acoustic with a great pickup system and it is in very good condition, especially for a guitar that is already over 20 years old. It has light playing wear, a few minor scuffs, mostly on the pickguard, some finish checking, and no cracks. There are a few spots where the lacquer coat is chiped or lifting, which you can see in the pictures.
The flame maple on the back, sides and neck is beautiful. The gold plated grover tuners work and look good. The frets are in great shape, with hardly any wear. The pickup system sounds terrific and playability is excellent. This is a great looking guitar that is stage-ready and really fun to play.
Whether you're into big strumming or gentle fingerpicking, you'll love how this jumbo guitar brings out every nuance of your playing. The J-185 EC's gorgeous flame maple and spruce tonewoods produce an acoustic guitar tone with massive volume, big punch, and detailed clarity.
Neck: It has a five piece neck; 3 flame maple and 2 mahogany. The beautiful ebony fretboard is bound with cream binding, has split parallelogram inlays, 20 frets, a nut width of 1 ¾” and a scale length of 24 ¾”.
