We’re looking for Dance Instructors on the central coast who love sharing dance with others and helping them grow in confidence, technique, and creativity to join our brand new studio! We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dance Instructors specializing in Ballet, Jazz or Hip-Hop or other dance to join our growing collective. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working with children and/or teens (also interested in hiring teachers for adult dance classes) confident in foundational technique training, and committed to creating a positive, encouraging, and fun learning environment.
**We will have a wide range of classes to teach available so entry/beginner dance instructors welcome to apply!
Responsibilities
- Teach weekly classes for assigned age groups (pre-k through teen levels for skill level/as needed and/or adult dance classes)
- Handle attendance when parents sign-in and pick up
- Develop and lead engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans focused on technique, coordination, musicality, and performance skills
- Provide clear corrections and supportive feedback to students in a positive learning environment
- Foster confidence, discipline, and a love of dance in every student
- Maintain classroom structure and ensure student safety
- Communicate professionally with studio staff, parents, and students when needed
- Participate in rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and studio events as needed/scheduled for work hours
- Future may include choreographing routines for performances and recitals, if desired!
Qualifications
- Strong training background or experience in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, or other dance!
- Previous teaching experience strongly preferred but not required. Skill and desire to teach required! : )
- Ability to choreograph and adapt movement for different age and skill levels
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Energetic, dependable, and positive attitude
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule & Commitment
Flexible part-time position or contract position with morning/afternoon/evening and/or weekend classes
Additional hours may be available for rehearsals, performances, and special events
Compensation:
