Part-Time Handyman / Maintenance Position

Square Deal Recordings & Supplies is a family-owned business that's proudly served San Luis Obispo and beyond since 1972. We specialize in media packaging supplies—like vinyl record sleeves, Blu-ray and video game cases—and operate both a national e-commerce warehouse and two local retail stores: Captain Nemo Games and Cheap Thrills Music & Movies. We’re currently seeking a part-time Handyman / Maintenance Associate to assist with small construction tasks, general upkeep, and repair work across our locations.
Job Responsibilities:
Small construction and fixture projects (e.g., counters, shelving, warehouse builds)
Basic building maintenance (e.g., replacing light fixtures, graffiti cleanup, general repairs)
Occasional odd jobs and upkeep as needed
Requirements:
Basic woodworking or mechanical repair skills
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Most tools are provided (but feel free to use your own)
Schedule & Pay:
Part-time position, hours arranged in advance
Work must take place during our core business hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Starting wage: $19.00/hour (tryout period, up to 160 hours)
Ongoing wage: $20.00–$23.00+/hour depending on experience and duties
Raises of $0.50–$1.00 after each of the first two 80-hour milestones
