Templeton Mercantile is home to Pig Iron restaurant as well as Club Car Bar, which houses a professionally outfitted indoor music venue and gorgeously hand built bar, featuring a high quality cocktail program with a delicious food menu to match. We need a driven, self-motivated and passionate individual to join our Front Of House crew in continuing to serve the best food + drink in North County.
For this position, expect to be cross-trained to be flexibly fulfilling orders in one area of service, for both coffee/ espresso and beer/ wine/ cocktail orders as necessary. Previous coffee shop experience, including operation of an espresso machine preferred, but not necessary. **Weekend availability, including Saturday + Sunday mornings is required for this position. Currently looking for someone to work 10-15 hrs. per week.**
Ideal barista / bartender candidates should:
- Have proven working experience in a restaurant and/ or coffee shop
- Have proven barista experience, including use of an espresso machine (preferred, not necessary)
- Be available for morning shifts on Saturdays + Sundays
- Be capable of arriving on time for scheduled shifts
- Know how to spot and resolve problems efficiently and professionally
- Provide high quality customer service to a wide variety of guests
- Act as host and provide hospitable environment to guests, answering questions as needed
- Run cash register and ring up guests for food and drink orders
- Maintain a knowledge of classic cocktails
- Be able and willing to learn new concepts and recipes
- Be capable of taking on multiple tasks simultaneously
- Possess excellent communication skills and be able to work closely with others
- Manage, maintain and be accountable for an accurate cash drawer
- Have a passion for the hospitality industry, keeping up with bartending trends and best practices, and know how to clean as you go
- Keep work area clean and tidy, restocking supplies and cleaning as needed
- Assist in expo and organization of food and drink orders, keeping in healthy and active communication with management and fellow staff
- Be able to work on their feet for long periods of time in a fast paced environment
- Be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
- Be able to read and comprehend English
