The San Luis Obispo County Y has a part time, benefit eligible position available!
30-35 hours a week
Under the supervision of the Site Director, the Assistant Site Director assists with the overall direction and management of the childcare site within the goals and objectives of the San Luis Obispo County YMCA. This includes responsibility for program implementation, management of site staff, the supervision, safety and well being for up to 20 children, 5 to 12 years old enrolled in the YMCA's Before & After School Recreation Programs. The Assistant Site Director is responsible for participating with the Site Director to achieve positive results for the San Luis Obispo County YMCA childcare programs.
Assist and follow the Site Director in program planning and implementation.
Are flexible and creative in program planning and implementation.
Assists with a variety of stimulating, challenging activities appropriate for youth K-6th grade.
Are flexible and willing to work at another site or with another group when necessary.
Continually take an active role in providing safe conditions at the site.
Assists Site Directors in providing quality Y child care programs.
Under supervision manage accounts receivable, maintain EOC and Financial Assistance reports, registration.
Assists Site Director in preparing weekly staff schedules and in the development/evaluation of each staff member.
Creates a list of food and supplies needed for purchase. Maintenance of the Food Program records and preparation of snack menus.
Maintain positive reinforcement for each child and willingness to work with Site Director and parents in order to enhance each child's experience in the program.
Provide courteous, prompt and sincere attention to participants,parents and staff.
Respond to all feedback and complaints in a courteous and timely fashion.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
• Live scan clearance.
• Within the first 30 days of employment: CPR/First Aid/AED certificate, child abuse prevention training.
• Blood borne pathogens training as required.
• Valid drivers license and car insurance.
(Certifications need to remain current during employment.)
