Come enjoy heating and beating metal! Develop the fundamental skills needed to forge steel and understand blacksmithing tools. You’ll learn how to work with various types and sizes of metal stock, and be introduced to the proper choice and use of tongs to hold the hot steel. We will introduce tapering, upsetting, flattening, dishing, and bending of hot steel. Students can make a variety of small projects, such as barn hooks, BBQ forks and steak turners advancing to making more complicated projects and their own tools.
