If you're new to the gym, it can be an intimidating place. There doesn't seem to be much space to be a beginner between all the big, strong, sweaty dudes throwing weights around. You're worried about being judged. You're worried about injuring yourself with poor technique. You're wondering, "What the hell am I even supposed to do to achieve my fitness goals?"
I remember exactly what it feels like to be that person. Fortunately, with some solid coaching, I gradually became comfortable and competent in the gym and discovered my passion for fitness. Being able to walk into the gym and know exactly what to do and how to do it is a great feeling, and I wanted to share that experience with more people.
After getting a bachelors degree in kinesiology at Cal Poly and working for ten years as a fitness professional, I moved back to SLO and created Mastery Fitness Club. My goal is to help people acquire the skills, knowledge, and habits to enjoy the lasting, sustainable fitness results they envision.
If you're interested in beginning your own fitness journey, come hang out in my garage and learn to lift weights correctly. We'll practice the basics, chat about nutrition strategies, share some laughs, and you'll get a bit better every session. It'll be simple, casual, and fun :)
