I bought this frameset a couple years ago with hopes of building up the ultimate commuter / touring bike. I have too many other projects though, so it’s time to let someone else have a go at it. It’s in quite good condition with few miles. There is a very small ding near the front of the top tube, a couple paint chips and a scratch underneath the downtube. The color is metallic black with clear coat over the decals. Overall it shows very nicely.
This is a custom hand built steel Rodriguez Makeshift, fabricated in Seattle. It’s designed to be a full touring bike with all the braze-ons for racks and bottles. It’s also setup specifically for a Rohloff rear hub with OEM cable routing which does not require the use of a gearbox or adapters. The drive side seatstay splits to allow the installation of a Gates belt drive. Belt or chain tensioning is done via an eccentric bottom bracket that works very well. The frame’s made for 26” wheels with cantis but can easily fit 650B as well with Paul Motolite brakes or adapters. Cantis are included as well as a 27.2 seat post.
Check out rodbikes.com for more information on this unique frameset and contact me with any questions and to check it out. The size is a 6L which is similar to a road 56cm with a 55.5cm effective top tube, 54cm seat tube (c-t) and a 130mm head tube. $500 and you’ve got a cool new project!
