2012 Intense Tracer2 in Size Medium. 26" wheels. In like new condition, and ridden twice on Madonna, in Fall of 2021 upgrading it to a modern 1x drivetrain, Shimano XT brakes with finned metallic pads, replacing the tires and going tubeless, upgrading the adjustable Fox36 Talas shock for more travel(making the bike a little more slack), and adding a period correct "Gravity Dropper."
These were hand built at Intense, in Temecula, CA, hence the beautiful "stacked dimes" look to the welds on the aluminum frame. They were $4,500 plus tax, when new. A true handcrafted work of art, and part of the great legacy of Intense. The frame is an antique bronze color, with a hint of plumb, which is why it shows up sort of purple in the photos. It's more bronze looking in person depending on the lighting, with a hint of metallic in the paint.
The bike is very original, right down to the Intense seat, and looks like it's never been ridden. I upgraded the 3x drive system to 1x with an Absolute Black Oval front chain ring, and e*thirteen front chain guide and bash guard, because I wanted a bike for the climbs Madonna, Montana De Oro, and Cuesta Grade. Same reason for giving the bike better brakes, more fork travel(170mm), a more slack frontend, and the Kenda DH tires running tubeless. The Gravity Dropper is bulletproof, as it is just a simple spring, with opposing magnets to create the release. It has 3 positions: Fully up, 1" down, and fully down. I put climbing bars on the handle bar ends because I actually use them, both for steep, long climbs, and to give my hands and wrists a few different positions during normal cruise-type riding. They unclamp if you don't want them. It will come equipped with the aluminum e*thirteen "Plus" pedals, which are amazing, and as close to being clipped in, as you can get. If you don't want them, I'll take $100 off the price.
This bike is really quiet on the trail (except for the rear drive ratchets during coasting), extremely good for climbing, and it has a ton of adjustments in the fork and shock, so it can be tuned during the ride, for various conditions. The 26" wheels make it snappy and playful. It's an absolute blast to ride, because it's light, fast, and responsive. I have a really heavy bike that I train on, and this was going to be my fun, "normal" bike to take out with friends. I got in 2 light rides on Madonna, before finding an Intense Carbon Spider in the same size. I built that bike the same way I built this Tracer, so the Tracer has sat unridden.
