I have both a Wolf CT15E/S (15" ceramic (conventional heating) and a CT15I/S induction cooktop. In addition to touch heating controls they have timers. Each can be powered by 240v 20 amp circuit. Electrical code also allows connection to an existing 40 or 50 amp oven circuit. I can set these up to be hard wired or cord and cap (plug into a receptacle).
One of these would be ideal for a tiny home or accessory dwelling unit (ADU). Teamed up with a Breville oven and you have luxury minimalism!
CT15E/S (conventional heating): $400.
CT15I/S. (Induction, requires pans that attract a magnet): $800 (half of what I paid for it)
Notes about induction heating:
Induction coupling is the fastest most efficient means of heating. Induction heats the pan directly, the glass top only gets warm or hot from the pan, the glass does not heat the pan. The lo setting is good for melting chocolate. Additionally, induction doesn't add soot or fumes like natural gas, making less dust and grime in your home.
