Hello people,
I am a resident of SLO trying to hook-up with electronic musicians in the greater SLO area. I want to form a free-form electronic jam session & see where it goes. I don't have a sample of my music on the internet yet but I guarantee I can tweak the knobs & lay down the synth pads. I use a variety of soft synths on my computer including Reason, Arturia synths & some Native Instruments programs. I want to create an organic/electronic sound incorporating computers & acoustic instruments such as live drums & bass. I also play drums, guitar & bass.
The type of music I'm interested in creating could be described as the love child of Sound Tribe Sector 9, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, and Ulrich Schnauss. I enjoy a range of music from the odd & glitch ridden to the beautiful & ambient. I would love to take these sounds into a live venue. SLO county is filled with regular rock bands and an electronic jam might turn some heads.
Drum Sounds I love - complex, odd-timed & glitched out to the deep standard live grooves.
Synth Pads - can't live without them!
Synth Leads - wild, analog style lines. Delay, delay, delay!
Samples - don't use samples but I love warped cassette voices like BOC uses.
My general approach to creating a song is to start with a drum groove, texture or pad progression & then add layers moving the sounds in and out of intensity.
Whether you are a Poly student or a space alien, call me up if interested in sharing ideas & possibly playing together. I'd love to hear from you.
