Grad student would like to finish up her studies in your area. I have heard that Sec. 8 isn't so popular, but not everyone is bad or dirty. Actually, if you look at the perks, you may just reconsider; you receive a check from the gov't every month, no 5 day grace periods. They come in and look in all our nooks and crannies (every year), making sure we hold up our end of the bargain, and they're not known for their sense of humor when it comes down to the rules.
We are a nice and quiet mother and child team. We are motivated academically, I am working on my master's in forensic psychology and my little one has aspirations to grow up and become a vet or animal trainer (hence Cal Poly area) or a mechanic (which is ok with me (mechanical engineer, even better).
I am almost done with school and would like teach at the community college level, however, until I get my foot in the door, we need the Sec. 8 to tide us over.
Like I said, we are quiet, not a rowdy bunch. We're usually in bed early and wake with the sun. We are not party people, nor do we smoke. We are moving because we are So. Cal people and San Francisco is way too cold for us, and dare I say a little kooky (which is all right for a weekend or a concert, but a little much for the everyday). Down south is getting too crowded. We value peace and quiet and the sun.
Any suggestions or an opportunity to fill your property for a good chunk of time (even after the Sec. 8 goes away would be ideal). They will pay for a 2 bedroom place up to $1100. We would like to move before school starts at the end of the summer. Thank you.
