Wooden Indian Description
This hand crafted Indian replica is a life sized cigar store Indian. This is a reproduction of antique cigar store Indians of the past. It would make an awesome display in a business with a western theme. The current owners purchased it from a long-closed business . It was refurbished and painstakingly hand painted to represent the look, feel and likeness of a true American Indian.
Indian Chief
The Chief is carved from a solid log of wood. Much of his clothing and form is carved. A local artist added war paint markings to his face, arms and chest. The carved loin cloth over his trousers is covered with real feathers. His trousers and arm bands have leather like fringe and lots of other trim. He is adorned in a long white real feather headdress that reaches down to his upper thigh. (Under his feather headdress is the original carved wood headdress). The current owners wanted to increase the "WOW" value via real feathers (which completely cover the original carved head dress). The feather head dress can be removed for transport purposes.
Indian Chief is mounted on a solid wooden base (which is part of the sculpture), width 22 inches, depth 18 inches, height six feet. (head dress adds approximately six inches to the height). Weight is approx 158 lbs.
